Man arrested after foot chase in Reidsville

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Deputies say they arrested a suspect who was wanted on outstanding warrants after a foot chase that followed a vehicle stop in Reidsville.
According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a gray Nissan Sentra that had a fake license plate around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. 29 Business and Wolf Island Road.
After stopping the vehicle, deputies say the driver, 29-year-old Roy Wesley Hodge of Ruffin, ran away.
Hodge was apprehended a short distance away, deputies said.
Deputies say the suspect was wanted on “several outstanding warrants,” but they did not specify what charges have been brought against him.
Hodge was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $23,845 secured bond. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday, March 28.
