Suspects sought in Rockingham County armed robbery

STONEVILLE, N.C. — Deputies in Rockingham County said they are looking for two suspects accused of robbing a business at gunpoint early Friday morning in Stoneville.

Authorities said the robbery was reported around 12:20 a.m. at the 220 Sweepstakes Internet Connections Business at 9601 US Hwy 220.

Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the suspects entered the business shortly before closing time and demanding money at gunpoint.

Deputies said the suspects wore gray hooded sweatshirts and black ski masks. Authorities said they fled the scene in a red or burgundy passenger car. No injuries were reported.
