GREENSBORO — Mayor Robbie Perkins’ estranged wife has asked a Guilford County judge to hold him in contempt of court for failing to pay post-separation and child support of about $17,000, the Winston-Salem Journal reports.

According to the report, the couple is in the midst of a divorce and Carole Perkins claims her husband did not pay the support ordered by the court in February. Robbie Perkins asked for a new trial.

Robbie Perkins immediately should be required to pay the money and “pay all future post-separation support and child support on time or be incarcerated until such are paid,” according to the request for the contempt order, filed last week.
Perkins tells FOX8, “It’s a domestic dispute that’s in the courts. We will see how they resolve it. I want to make it clear I’m paying a lot of money in spousal and child support.”
He has been ordered to appear in court in April.
