GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police said a pedestrian was killed after being hit by an SUV Thursday night in Greensboro.

Authorities said 52-year-old Anthony English was walking westbound on Wendover Avenue near Aunt Mary Avenue around 7:48 p.m. when he stepped out in front of a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer.

Police said English was hit and was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where he later died.

Officials said the Crash Reconstruction Unit of the Greensboro Police Department is investigating the incident. They did not say if charges are being filed against the driver.
