Man wanted for sex crimes in Alamance Co.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Detectives are searching for a man wanted in connection with multiple sex offenses involving a child under 13-years-old.

Jose Guadalupe Ramirez-Ambriz, 38, is wanted on multiple counts of first degree statutory sex offense with a child under age 13 and indecent liberties with a minor.

According to officials, detectives started an investigation on Feb. 26 following a report from the Department of Social Services. The information was provided by a school counselor. The alleged victim is a Hispanic female under the age of 13.

Officials said Ramirez-Ambriz is “an undocumented alien” with prior arrests in Alamance and Johnston counties, as well as an arrest in Hendersonville. He also has arrest records in Oregon and Utah.

The suspect’s last known address was on Calloway Drive in Mebane. The suspect is also known as Jose Ramires and Jose Guadalupe Ramires.

Detectives believe the suspect could be attempting to flee to Mexico.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S Marshal’s Service or their local law enforcement agency.
