ELON, N.C. — An Elon University student was reportedly struck by a vehicle Tuesday on the school’s campus.

The Burlington Times-News reports Carolina C. Bauer, of Falmouth, Maine, was using a crosswalk on Haggard Avenue near the Alamance building shortly after 3:15 p.m. when she was struck by a car that was traveling at a low speed.

Bauer did not have any apparent injuries, but she “complained of pain” and was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center to be evaluated, Elon Police Chief Cliff Parker told the Times-News.

Parker tells the Times-News the student stepped in front of the car.  The car had the right of way, he told the paper.

The driver of the car will not be charged, Parker said.
