WENTWORTH, N.C. — Deputies are asking for any information from the public that may help them identify whoever broke into a coin machine at a car wash in Rockingham County.

Deputies say the theft was reported around 8:45 a.m. at the Stoneville Service Center Car Wash located at 8477 N.C. 87.

The business’s owner told deputies the front door of the business had been forced open.  A change machine affixed to the front of the building had also been broken open and the money from inside the machine had been stolen.  Nothing else from inside the business appears to have been taken.

The break-in is believed to have occurred between 9 p.m. Monday and 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, deputies said.
