7 relatives charged in rash of copper, metal thefts in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Seven relatives have reportedly been charged in connection with a rash of metal thefts across Davidson County.

According to The Lexington Dispatch, the suspects face a combined total of 77 charges.

The-Dispatch reports the suspects were connected to multiple thefts in the Petrea Road and Old Cabin Lane areas in the Reeds community.  The sheriff’s office began investigating the thefts on Nov. 5, 2012.

Auto parts, air conditioning units and other miscellaneous items were among the stolen property, The-Dispatch reports.

Capt. Casey Tarleton with the sheriff’s office tells The-Dispatch that the suspects are relatives.

They were identified as Zachary Randall Hailey, 22, Dwayne Briggs Eller, 24, Bobby Allen Fitch, 40, Savannah Nicole McCoy, 25, Bryan Cooper, 24, Heather Danielle Gurley, 29, and Bradley Scott Cooper, 22.
