Man hit, killed by train in Greensboro identified
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Officials have identified a man who was struck and killed by a freight train in Greensboro.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 3:46 p.m. Wednesday near South Benbow Road, a block south of East Market Street.
Early Thursday, police identified the victim as 26-year-old Kwado Gyamfi of Greensboro.
It remains uncertain why the Gyamfi was on the tracks.
Benbow Road was temporarily closed between East Market Street and Cunningham Street while police investigated the incident.
No further details have been provided.
