SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. — More than half a dozen North Carolina students were suspended for an organized “fight club” inside a high school.
WLOS reported that the student-run “club” had been going on for about a month inside Swain County High School.
The fights were reportedly captured on cell phone video inside the boys’ locker room.
One student told WLOS that a gym teacher knew about the fighting, but turned a blind eye.
The student said the teacher allegedly told them not to record the fights on video and said he could get in trouble if they did.
The school said in a statement that the teacher did not know about the fighting.
The students allegedly involved were reportedly suspended for 10 days.
