DALLAS, N.C. – A Gaston County woman has been charged with rape after officials said she set up one of her friends to be sexually assaulted.

WCNC reported that Jeannette Valero Vazquez, 47, was arrested Wednesday on first-degree kidnapping and first-degree rape charges.

The alleged incident occurred last June when Vazquez allegedly invited one of her friends to her home, tricked her into being sexually assaulted and watched the victim’s two young children in another room.

Police said Vazquez set up the rape with the second woman and 33-year-old Carlos Sanchez Romero on June 20 at Vazquez’s house. The alleged rapist is still on the loose.

Authorities said the victim had known Vazquez for about five years. She was allegedly tricked to go into the basement to look at pictures where Romero was waiting. Officials said Romero then locked the a door and raped the woman.

Vazquez is at the Gaston County Jail on a $1 million bond. She has court planned for Feb. 25.
