Anchorman 2 welcomes Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig joins the cast of Anchorman 2.

“Just found out Kristen Wiig officially on board for Anchorman 2. Cannonball!” director Adam McKay tweeted on Monday.

“Anchorman” co-star Christina Applegate (a.k.a. Ron Burgundy’s lady love) corroborated the story with her own Tweet. “woohoo! That’s so great.”

She later tweeted: “So excited Kristen Wiig has joined our cast for anchorman2. Going 2 b best movie ever made. Besides the best movies ever made.”

Some of the stars expected to appear in the much anticipated sequel include Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner.
