Piedmont Natural Gas’ rate cut to save customers on February bill

Reduced rates for Piedmont Natural Gas customers in the Carolinas took effect Friday after being recently approved by regulators in North Carolina and South Carolina.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported that the rate cut will be between 7.5 and 9.5 perecent for residential customers. A typical residential customer will reportedly save $8 to $10 on the February bill.

The N.C Utilities Commission approved the decrease on Monday and the S.C. Public Service Commission approved it Wednesday.
