Four treated for hypothermia after boat capsizes in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials said four people were treated for hypothermia after their boat capsized in Davidson County on Saturday.

Authorities said the Davidson County 911 Center received calls reporting the incident around 8:43 p.m.

Officials said the victims were heard calling for help in the area of the High Rock Lake Wildlife Recreation access.

The four male victims were reportedly taken to emergency workers from a small island by an off-duty Davidson County Rescue Squad member in his personal boat.

Authorities said the North Carolina Wildlife is investigating the boating incident.
