ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (TIMES-NEWS) — Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson remains in intensive care at Duke Medical Center as he recovers from surgery after falling ill from a “cardiac event“, The Times-News reports.

Duke Medical Center officials hope to move Johnson from the ICU on Tuesday, according to Maj. Shelton Brown of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

“His wife is asking everyone to keep him in their prayers,” Brown said.

County Manager Craig Honeycutt informed the county commissioners about Johnson’s condition on Monday, saying he will have “a long recovery process”.

Chief Deputy Tim Britt is currently in charge of the ACSO while Johnson is in the hospital.
