Two charged with stealing vehicles in Stokes County

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — Stokes County deputies have arrested two men in cases of stolen vehicles and breaking and entering of motor vehicles in the Sandy Ridge area.

The Stokes News reported that Kenneth Ray Hayden Jr., 31, of Sandy Ridge and Michael Paul Atkins, 33, of Stokesdale, have been charged in the alleged crimes.

The suspects are accused of taking vehicles for their personal use and steal items from them before later abandoning them.

Hayden has been charged with felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods or property, felony larceny of motor vehicle and felony possession of stolen motor vehicle.

Atkins was charged with breaking or entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods or property, felony larceny of motor vehicle and felony possession of stolen motor vehicle.

Hayden was given a $50,000 secured bond and Atkins a $10,000 secured bond.
