NC man accused of stealing TV, hitting woman with truck

CLAYTON, N.C. – A Raleigh man accused of stealing a TV from Walmart and then hitting a woman with a stolen truck has been arrested.

WTVD reported that 22-year-old Skyler Tray Mazza was arrested Friday in Cary after the incident was reported at the business on U.S. Highway 70 in Clayton.

Investigators said Mazza tried to leave the store at high speed in a stolen truck and hit a woman in her car in the parking lot. Officials said the woman was hospitalized for her injuries.

Authorities said Mazza abandoned the vehicle and ran into the nearby woods. Police later recovered the stolen television.

Mazza was charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle and hit and run. His also faces misdemeanor larceny and resisting arrest charges.

Officials said he was also served with an outstanding probation violation warrant. The suspect was placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $135,000 secure bond.
