Man robbed near UNCG late Thursday

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was robbed late Thursday near UNCG, police said in a news release.

Officers responded to 547 S. Mendenhall St. in reference to a robbery. The victim told police he was approached by a college-aged male who displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect was last spotted running towards Walker Ave.

A short time later, a UNCG Police officer detained Jarin Shawon Reaves, 23, and charged him with robbery with dangerous weapon and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

No other information was provided.
