State DSS gives Randolph County more money for childcare vouchers
RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina State Department of Social Services will give Randolph County Department of Social Services more money for childcare vouchers.
NC DHHS re-allocation to Randolph County will be $391,500, which will return the subsidy for children ages 5-8 until May 31, 2013.
County DSS stopped giving vouchers to students in Randolph County for after school care in November, after the program had spent 139% of its budget through the early months of this fiscal year, which began in July.
Notices have been sent to families who were affected by the cuts.
