BURLINGTON, N.C. — New details have been released in a fatal plane crash in Burlington earlier this month.

The Greensboro News & Record is reporting the plane’s tracker failed before the crash.

The tracker equipment allows air traffic controllers to track the plane. The piece of equipment was not working at the time of the crash.

Officials asked the pilot to reset the tracker, however there’s no indication whether that happened or not.

The single-engine plane owned by LabCorp crashed into a softball field on January 16.

David Gamble, of Greensboro, died in the crash. He was the only person on board.
