BOONE, N.C. — A man was arrested in Boone earlier this week on several drug-related charges.

On Tuesday, Boone ended a 6-month drug investigation when David Michael Hudson, 60, of 242 Tanner Road, was arrested.

Back in 2012, investigators identified Hudson as selling illegal narcotics in Boone. The drug investigation included undercover officers purchasing various prescription pills and Psilocybin, or mushrooms, from Hudson, Sgt. Chris Hatton said in a news release.

Hudson faces charges including trafficking of opium, felony possession of Psilocybin (mushrooms), felony sell and deliver charges and possession of Xanax and other drug-related charges.

He was arrested and booked in the Watauga County Jail under a $15,000 bond.

“Our narcotics division works hard every day to identify and arrest drug dealers, but they need help from the community,” said Captain Andy Lebeau.
