Man charged with assaulting ex-girlfriend in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a man was arrested early Tuesday after he assaulted his ex-girlfriend at her Greensboro home. 

According to police, officers responded shortly before 12:15 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an assault at 712 West Florida St. 

When they arrived, police met with a resident who said her former boyfriend attacked her inside her home.  Police said the suspect “made entry into her apartment and assaulted her multiple times.” 

The victim suffered a minor puncture wound and other minor injuries, police said.  She was treated by EMS. 

Police arrested 39-year-old Troy Linwood Brown on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault on a female, first-degree kidnapping, domestic trespass, injury to personal property and interfering with emergency communication. 

The suspect, who is being held without bond, is slated to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon. 

The investigation is ongoing.
