Police: Woman robbed at gunpoint after accepting ride from strangers

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a woman was robbed at gunpoint late Tuesday night in Greensboro after she accepted a ride home from two strangers in an SUV. 

According to police, officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. to a report of a robbery at 1105 Gorrell St.

The victim told police she was waiting for a bus near Smith Homes when the suspects approached in a white Ford Explorer and offered her a ride home. 

After she accepted the offer, the suspects drove the victim to the 300 block of Avalon Road, where they robbed her at gunpoint, she told police. 

Police said “several items” were taken from the victim, but she was not injured. 

No ample suspect descriptions were provided. 

No other information was provided.
