MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — A landmark home in Mocksville known to attract hundreds of trick-or-treaters on Halloween because of its appearance is on the market.
The Nail House is adorned with gothic features, most notably its long, pointed windows and steep gables, which give it an air of eeriness.
The historic Nail House on Mocksville’s Main Street went up for sale in mid-December for $260,000.
The Nail House is more than 130 years old. Current resident Kim Smith estimated they handed out about 600 pieces of candy last year during Halloween.
“We didn’t know anything about Halloween before we moved here,” said Kenny Smith, who has lived in the house with his wife, Kim, and two children, since 2009.
