VAN NUYS, Calif. — A California woman has been reunited with her dog five months after the Pomeranian went missing.

KTLA reported that Marlene Bolivar was reunited with 4-year-old Lucky after the canine was stolen and held for ransom back in August.

Bolivar said an unknown caller contacted her and asked how much she would be willing to pay for the dog.

Bolivar said she could not offer much money because she didn’t have much.

She said the caller said she would call back but never did. Bolivar said she thought Lucky was gone forever.

Authorities said Lucky was found almost a half a year later by animal control officers.

The canine was reportedly wandering the streets of Sacramento, more than 350 miles from his Rosemead home.

Animal control officers reportedly scanned his microchip and contacted Bolivar with the good news.

Officials said it remains a mystery how the dog ended up in Sacramento.
