The funeral of “Dallas” character J.R. Ewing is set to air during the show’s upcoming second season in honor of late TV legend Larry Hagman.
TV Line reported that the funeral will air on the eighth episode if the series’ second season on March 11 on TNT.
Hagman died from cancer complications on Nov. 23 in Dallas. He completed filming a number of Season 2 episodes before his death.
The actor returned as J.R. in a new edition of “Dallas” this year. The original series aired on CBS from 1978 to 1991.
Hagman played J.R. on the show who was a business cheat, faithless husband and bottomless well of corruption.
“Larry was back in his beloved hometown of Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved the most. Larry’s family and closest friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday,” the family said in a statement that was provided to The Associated Press by Warner Bros., producer of the show.
The 81-year-old actor was surrounded by friends and family before he passed peacefully, “just as he’d wished for,” the statement said.
Dallas‘ second season is set to premiere on Jan. 28.
