CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a 21-year-old man who was assaulted and found lying in the front yard of a Charlotte home.
The Charlotte Observer reports that police responded about 10 p.m. Friday after someone called about a car parked in the road in a northwest Charlotte neighborhood.
The car was unoccupied, and 21-year-old Michael Shull was found lying nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Samana Shull says her brother lived in Conover but was in Charlotte on Friday to pick up his girlfriend. The couple had planned to go see Christmas lights with his family.
His sister says Michael Shull was profoundly deaf and graduated two years ago from the N.C. School for the Deaf in Morganton.
