You have likely seen the video circulating online that shows a Canadian toddler being snatched by a golden eagle while playing in a park near Montreal.

The video went viral late Tuesday and has spread like wildfire on social media.

However, the video has many questioning if it’s real or a hoax?

If you haven’t seen the video yet, you can watch it below. Warning: There is one expletive in the video at around :15.

Now, after seeing the video: what do you think? Real or hoax?

Here are a few reasons the video could be a hoax:

  • News of the incident is nowhere to be found in Canadian media.
  • The uploader only has one video on YouTube. This is usually a sign that the account was created just for the video.
  • Enhanced versions of the video show possible flaws if CGI was used in the viral video. The eagle's wing disappears for a brief moment and the bird's shadow disappears and reappears at another moment. Also, the way the baby "falls back to earth" appears that it could be CGI. (see the video below)

Now, we won't declare "It's a fake!" or "It's real!" We will let you decide.
