Twitter launches new photo editing feature on heels of Instagram breakup

Twitter will now allow users to crop, enhance and apply filters on images in an effort to enhance its photo sharing business, the company announced on Monday.

The announcement comes after Instagram disabled photo integration with Twitter last week, prohibiting previews of Instagram photos to appear on users’ timelines.

“The latest version of Twitter for iPhone and for Android introduce a few new ways to enhance the images you tweet.” Coleen Baik, senior designer for Twitter, wrote in a blog post.

“Starting today, you’ll be able to edit and refine your photos, right from Twitter.”

The former partners have recently taken steps to sever ties, ever since Instagram was purchased by Facebook in April.
