WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police said a Winston-Salem couple came home Friday night to a gunman in their bedroom who tied them up and ransacked their home.

Officials said the crime occurred around 10 p.m. on Heather View Lane. The victims asked to not be identified.

The husband and wife said when they walked into the house a hooded gunman with a mask told them to get down on the floor and demanded money.

The couple estimates $1,000 in damage for a broken window and said the burglar took one watch and two cell phones.

Winston-Salem police said they believe the burglary was a random act.
