MERCER, Pa. — Officials say a 7-year-old boy was shot and killed outside a gun store Saturday morning in Mercer, Penn.

KDKA-TV reports that the boy was shot in the parking lot of Twigs Reloading Den in East Lackawannock Township.

Authorities say the boy was in a booster seat in a car while his father was backing out of a parking space when the gun went off. His identity was not released.

Officials say it remains uncertain who fired the gun. Police say they found the boy with a single gunshot-wound in the chest.
