Teen arrested in love triangle stabbing in Mount Airy

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — A 15-year-old Surry County teen is in a juvenile detention center after he stabbed an older teen as a result of a love triangle on Thursday, according to police.

The stabbing occurred shortly before midnight at 212 Hickory Drive in Mount Airy at the home of a 15-year-old girl, who had been romantically involved with both juveniles.

The accused teen was hiding at the girl’s house, when she arrived home with Luis Fernando Gudino, 17.

The teen then stabbed Gudino.

The female was also injured in the incident.

The teen then stole his mother’s car and fled, attempting to head to Mexico.

He was apprehended in Iredell County.

According to police, the teen is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and larceny of a motor vehicle.

He is being held in a juvenile detention center pending a court appearance.
