Children rescued after car accident in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after she crashed her car with children inside on Thursday night.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, two or three small children were inside the vehicle.

They suffered minor injuries, not severe enough to be transported to the hospital.

The accident happened in Winston-Salem on Highway 52 south near exit 108A just before 9 p.m. this evening.

The driver drove partially over the guardrail.

No word on if the children were related to the driver.

The name of the driver has not been released.
