Photo: Girl gets face-to-face with gorilla at NC Zoo

ASHEBORO, N.C. — North Carolina Zoo officials shared with us this photo of a young girl as she gets face-to-face with a gorilla.
A Zoo spokesperson says 3-year-old Elizabeth Johanns visited with her parents on Monday when she got “as close to one of the park’s six gorillas as the glass barrier will allow.”
The family was visiting from Vincenza, Italy, where the girl’s father is stationed in the military.
