Power restored to thousands in Guilford, Rockingham counties

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Around 7,000 people in Guilford County and 3,000 in Rockingham County had their power restored Tuesday morning after being without from around 7-8 a.m Tuesday.

Officials said a logging crew was taking down a tree that fell on one of three transmission lines that served up to 10 thousand customers in the two counties.

Traffic lights were reportedly out at the intersections of Lawndale Drive and Lake Jeanette Road and Lake Jeanette Road and Elm Street.
