GREENSBORO, N.C. — Completion of phase one of the High Point Central High School gymnasium project will be pushed back at least a month, according to KMD Construction, the contractor working on the project.
The revised timeline means the gym will not be ready for basketball games until a tentative date of January 17, 2013.
This delay means the remainder of High Point Central’s home basketball games will be played at Southwest Guilford High School.
Phase one of the High Point Central gym project includes a new concession stand and ticket booth, as well as renovated locker rooms and offices.
KMD Construction is the second contractor working on the project, after the Guilford County Board of Education terminated the initial contract with Miles Builders in 2011.
KMD originally estimated the project would be completed in October 2012, but pushed that date back to December.
