Greensboro church distributing turkey dinners to 1,000 families in need
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro church is replicating a popular Bible story in an effort to feed thousands for Thanksgiving.
Lawndale Baptist Church began distributing the turkey dinners at 9 a.m. for their annual Feeding the 5,000 program. Following a worship service, the first 1,000 people to show up at the church will each receive a dinner box.
The boxes — filled with turkey, stuffing, beans, potatoes and pies — are each equipped to feed a family of five.
The first man to line up arrived at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
