Police: Man shot in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a suspect Thursday afternoon after they say a man was shot in Burlington.
The shooting was reported around 1 p.m. near an apartment complex at the corner of Stokes Street and Maple Avenue.
Police spokesman Chris Verdeck says officers were canvassing neighborhoods in search of the suspect, but they believe he may no longer be in the area.
No suspect description was provided.
The victim’s identity was not available. It was not clear how seriously injured he was.
No other information was available.
