Cheering from the Chair: Davidson County cheerleader walks

North Davidson High School student Melanie Pell has been a cheerleader since she was 7-years-old.

But after a devastating car wreck on June 29 and multiple surgeries, the 17-year-old was forced to cheer in a wheelchair.

She continued to cheer at all her school’s sporting events and is a big inspiration to the North Davidson community. She said her number one goal throughout the entire recovery was that she wanted to walk.
