Police: Two injured in shooting near middle school in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Police said they are investigating after two people were shot and injured in the field behind Jackson Middle School Monday night in Greensboro.

Officials said a large group of people were at to1909 Hardie St. and 2203 Ontario St. when a man pulled out a handgun and started firing around 9:26 p.m.

Police said they found one man and one woman suffering non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at the scene.

The victims said the shooting was prompted by an argument among the group. They said other people started running in different directions when the man started shooting.

Authorities said the victims were taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

A complete description of the suspect was not released.
