One dead, one injured in Burlington shooting

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police say one man was killed by gunfire and another was injured Tuesday evening in Burlington. 

According to police, officers responded shortly before 6:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting at 709 Avon Ave.  Two victims, Anthony Kevette Jones, 22, Micah White, 23, were found at the scene. 

Police said Jones was pronounced dead after being taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center. 

White was taken to UNC Hospital by his family.  Police said he was treated and released. 

The investigation is ongoing.
