Police: Woman hit by train in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a woman was injured Sunday night when she was hit by a train in Burlington.

The incident occurred around 6:42 p.m. near the 2300 block of Park Road Extension.  Police said the 26-year-old victim and two other people were trespassing on the Norfolk Southern Railway property when the victim was struck.

Officials said the victim was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Police said the three are charged with trespassing on railroad property.
