Man charged with DWI, hit and run after Burlington wreck

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a man was charged with driving drunk and felony hit and run after a car wreck Friday night in Burlington.

Authorities said the wreck occurred at the 2200 block of North Church Street at about 7:10 p.m. and involved a 1992 Lexus and a 1995 Chevrolet SUV driven by Humberto Reyes.

Officials said the driver of the Lexus and a juvenile in the car were treated for injuries not considered life threatening.

Police said Reyes left the scene before police arrived. He was charged with DWI, felony hit and run and driving while license revoked and received a $12,500 bond.

Police estimated damage to the Lexus to be around $3,500 and the damage to the SUV around $1,500.
