Man robbed outside Walmart in Lexington

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A man was reportedly robbed Monday in the parking lot of the Walmart in Lexington.

According to The Lexington Dispatch, the 23-year-old victim reported the incident shortly before 10:30 p.m. after going to the hospital to be treated for minor cuts to his head.  The incident reportedly occurred around 5 p.m. at the Walmart at 160 Lowe’s Blvd. 

The victim was walking from the parking lot to Murphy Oil when three suspects approached him, police Lt. Robby Rummage told the paper.  The male suspects, who were possibly juveniles, reportedly jumped the victim and punched him. 

The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.  They were last seen fleeing toward Federal Street. 

Police are investigating the incident as a common law robbery.
