Julie Luck says final goodbye to FOX8
WGHP Anchor and “Inspired Living” reporter Julie Luck said her final goodbye Friday night at the end of the 6 p.m. newscast.
Julie joined WGHP in 2005 as a News Anchor/Reporter from KRON in San Francisco. During her time at WGHP she anchored the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts and developed her weekly stories of “Inspired Living.”
Julie left the following message for viewers on FOX8′s Facebook page following the newscast:
“After a seven year tenure, my time at FOX8 has come to an end. Thank you for your warm welcome when I first arrived in 2005 and for your support and friendship since then. I’m in awe of the hundreds of emails, cards, and Facebook messages offering well-wishes as I explore new opportunities.
It has been an incredible journey from the beginning, filled with many fond memories, laughter, tears, and growth. I arrived at WGHP as a single Californian and I leave as a married Southerner. I’m older and wiser now, thanks to the FOX8 Family. I learned how to spot the difference between good and great barbecue (thanks Van), how to correctly pronounce Colfax and Beaufort, NC vs. Beaufort, SC (thanks Neill), and how to deliver football highlights (thanks Danny and Kevin.) Joking aside, I’ve learned so much from my talented colleagues and I also learned what makes the Piedmont so wonderful, and that is the people.
Thank you for allowing the Neill/Julie anchor team into your living rooms to share the news of the day. I’ve enjoyed meeting you at the FOX8 Holiday Concerts, at various events, during my Inspired Living shoots, or just bumping into you around town. You have shown true Southern hospitality and I will eternally be grateful. It has been an honor and privilege being part of the FOX8 family.
Wishing you only the best of news,
