Two arrested on drug charges in Mebane

MEBANE, N.C. — Deputies in Alamance County on Friday arrested two people on drug charges. 

According to a news release, Alamance County sheriff’s deputies along with Mebane police officers searched two homes, the first located at 302 Fitch Drive and the second located at 422 Smith Drive.  The searches were a result of a month-long investigation, deputies said. 

During the combined searches, deputies said they seized 3 grams of cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash. 

As a result, deputies arrested Roger Donnell Snipes Jr. and Mark Donta Hester. 

Snipes is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. The charges are in addition to outstanding warrants on two counts of sale and delivery of cocaine, another count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and another count of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Deputies arrested Hester as an out-of-state fugitive on a single charge of trafficking in cocaine in excess of 400 grams. In addition to the outstanding warrant, Hester is charged with assault on a female and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
