LEWISVILLE, N.C. — A former UNC Chapel Hill student from Lewisville has been sentenced on federal child pornography charges.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, 20-year-old Corey Thomas Gallisdorfer was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in prison by U.S. District Judge William Osteen Jr.  He will also have to register as a sex offender and be placed on supervised release for 25 years following his prison sentence.

Gallisdorfer pleaded guilty to multiple counts of production of child pornography and online enticement in January. He was arrested as a freshman at Chapel Hill in May 2011 after FBI agents searched his dorm room near campus.

The Journal reports he was accused of posing as a teenage girl online in an effort to persuade teenage boys to send him sexually-explicit photos.
