MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a Va. man suspected of setting fire to a vacant home on Aug. 30.

According to Mount Airy Police Department, Glen Isaac Boyles of Ararat, Va. has been charged with ‘burning and uninhabited house’ located at 307 East Elm St.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the Mount Airy Fire Department indicated that “the fire’s origin and cause was suspicious,” said police.

Boyles was arrested by Patrick County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday and is currently in the county’s jail under no bond.

Police reported that the incident Boyles was arrested for is not related to other fires reported on August 29.

Anyone with information about any of the fires is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 336-786-4000.
