Thomasville officers name released after car crashed into HS

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The name of the officer who was driving the patrol car that crashed into a local high school on Tuesday has been released.

According to the Thomasville Police Department, Officer Jonathon Regan, 36, was driving the patrol car that crashed into Thomasville High School at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 4. 

Regan who has been with the department for one year was not injured during the accident.

TPD reported  that Regan has undergone medical testing per city policy to identify possible health related issues that may have contributed to the accident.

An internal investigation is ongoing and no other details have been released.
