DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The department of transportation will conduct blasting along I-85 near Clark Road beginning on Tuesday.

In preparation to widen nearly four miles of I-85, between N.C. 150 and I-85 Business, the NCDOT will preform blasting during lunchtime for the next two to three weeks.

During the blasting, law enforcement vehicles will guide traffic in each direction to create a buffer zone separating traffic from the blasting locations.

Drivers are encouraged to drive slowly and to remain alert while driving through these areas.

DOT crews will suspend blasting efforts throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend to prevent travel delays.
